Documentation WebCMS module Mill7

Status  as per February 19th, 2009

Millogic uses the new module since the beginning of 2009. The module will be tested in February by FortisIntertrust (FIT) Amsterdam for a few pilot clients. An additional function is requested by FIT and is added by Millogic as soon as possible: To report financial reports like the general ledger and the balance sheet. Other trust offices are also interested in the new module. Probably they will also bring in ideas for additional functionality.

Goals

Relations (like clients) of Mill7 users can view Mill7 data using a normal internet browser. It is not possible to change the data. The new module is a Content Management System (CMS). Mill7 data is published on the internet. This data can include all data from the Mill7 module Relation Management. But also data like (outstanding) invoices or financial reports. The original documents linked to the Mill7 data can also be published. Excel reports can be run based on the published Mill7 data.

The CMS-users of the module can view the information of only the mill7 firms where the users are connected with. This connection could be as an advisor, or a trust employee, or a shareholder, etc. The data viewed by a user can be configured by selecting a (rights-) group for the user. The names of the files and fields are the same as used in Mill7 and are set by the Mill7 user.

The published web pages can be integrated in the web page of the Mill7 user, using the style of the current website.

Security

Mill7 can provide simple security procedures, but these are not included. The security, like encrypting and password logins, is provided by third party products (like Firepass).

Demo

A demo of the module can be found here: www.mill7.nl/CMSdemo/EVW/index.html

The user interface works about the same as in the relation management module of Mill7.

Used techniques

The Mill7 program that publishes the content is a Mill7 windows program (running on all windows versions). The program can be started manually, but will usually be started in batch. When a batch is started in the night, then nobody will notice use of the server. The processing time depends on the number of clients and the amount of desired content. For example: The Millogic website gives access for 200 users and the publishing takes about 10 minutes. The content published on a proxy server is plain html with a very little java script. Because no Mill7 processes are running on the proxy server, this enables hundreds of simultaneous users. The used technique results in no minimum specifications for the module.

Module Licensing and pricing

The module price is 8000 euro, plus 500 euro per CMS user. In the first year of introduction (2009) a discount of 4000 euro is granted to early adapters. Prices are excluding VAT, if applicable.

Configuration

1)     Millogic will integrate the web style of the Mill7 user in the html classes for the new content.

2)     Users are added in Mill7 to link them to (right-) groups.

3)     The right groups define what info (files) can be viewed.

4)     If names of fields or files are not suitable for publishing, the Mill7 user can change these names in the Relation Management module. How wide fields are published is also a shared setting with the relation management module.

5)     Invoices and logos are copied to a folder to be specified in the configuration setting.

6)     Most configuration settings are provided by Millogic. These are settings like the size of the webpage and used CSS classes. But also the location of the folders.

7)     The program Mill7web.exe will generate the contents. With parameter /S it will start in batch. Without the parameter /S the configuration can also be set.
